THE POWER BEHIND SHRED-UP

Chromium (100 mcg) Shown to support healthy insulin sensitivity and normal levels of blood glucose. This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study using real human test subjects that clearly demonstrates that chromium promotes healthy insulin levels as well as healthy insulin function.(1)

N-Acetyl L-Carnitine HCl (250 mg)This is a more bioavailable form of Carnitine, which is synthesized in the liver from two amino acids - lysine and methionine. Carnitine transports stored fat to the mitochondria where it is used as energy by the body.(2)

Hoodia Gordonii Extract Powder - (125 mg)This South African plant has traditionally been used as an appetite and thirst suppressant during hunting expeditions. More recently, Hoodia has developed a reputation as a popular diet aid due to its hunger suppressant properties. In 1977, the active ingredient in Hoodia was discovered by the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. Known as P57, it’s thought that Hoodia controls hunger by tricking the body into thinking it’s full.

Green Tea Extract [50% EGCG] - (200 mg)Long known for its antioxidant benefits, Green Tea contains active ingredients known as catechins, the most effective of these is known as Epigallocatechin Gallate, or EGCG. This active ingredient inhibits the enzyme that breaks down norepinephrine, which is a hormone that, among other functions, signals the breakdown of fat to be used as energy by the body. By blocking this enzyme, norepinephrine is able to send a stronger signal which in turn means more fat can be used to meet energy needs.(3)

The Fat Burner Blend (365 mg)

Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine is, of course, the most popular energy and alertness aid on the planet. Everybody loves a morning cup of Joe! Beyond its ability to increase energy, improve focus and alertness, Caffeine is thought to stimulate thermogenesis.(9) This version of Caffeine is stronger on a gram for gram basis than regular Caffeine because all moisture has been removed, resulting in a more concentrated version.

N-Methyl Tyramine Hydrochloride

This compound works synergistically with Caffeine and is a methylated version of L-Tyramine, which is a naturally occurring monoamine that acts as a catecholamine. What are catecholamines? They include neurotransmitters such as epinephrine(adrenaline), norepinephrine (noradrenaline), and dopamine, all of these are part of the body's "fight of flight" response. The effects of this advanced ingredient are thought to be increased energy and an increased metabolic rate, as well as an increased breakdown of fat for energy.

Guarana Seed Extract

This South American fruit contains a 22% Caffeine content and, in fact, has more Caffeine than a coffee bean. Guarana also contains tannins, which are compounds that slow the release of the Caffeine in Guarana, resulting in a smoother, more extended energy experience.

Infinergy™ Dicaffeine Malate

Infinergy™ is a combination of Caffeine and Malic Acid that not only increases energy and focus, it also stimulates thermogenesis. The primary advantage of this type of Caffeine is that it’s buffered, which means less stomach discomfort. Additionally, Malic Acid is involved in the cellular energy processes of the body.

Other Ingredients

Green Coffee Bean Extract (100 mg)Green Coffee Beans are unroasted, which means that the active ingredient, Chlorogenic Acid, stays intact. This is important because this is believed to be the compound that promotes fat loss. What does Chlorogenic Acid do? Initial studies have suggested that it can reduce the absorption of carbohydrates, while some animal studies have found that it can improve the function of the hormone adiponectin, which is the primary fat burning hormone in the body.(4,5) As you can see, we use the synergistic effects of Green Tea and Green Coffee Bean to signal the fat burning hormones in the body to burn fat for energy.

Dandelion Extract (100 mg) This herb has an extended history of use for various ailments, such as promoting liver health and acting as a general tonic. Dandelion also possesses several digestive health benefits and has been used an effective diuretic in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. In Canada, Dandelion is registered as a natural health product and used as a diuretic, with a pilot study supporting its use.(6)

Paradoxine® Grains of Paradise Extract (50 mg) This is a West African plant that’s similar to ginger and contains an active phenol compound known as 6-paradol. The Paradoxine® form of Grains of Paradise is a superior quality, non-stimulant herbal fat loss ingredient that contains 12.5% 6-paradol. This compound has been shown to stimulate thermogenesis of brown adipose tissue (BAT). It does this by supporting the conversion of stored fat into BAT, which can then be burned as energy by the body.(7)

Cayenne Pepper Fruit Extract (15 mg)This popular compound contains the active ingredient known as Capsicum that can stimulate an increase in the core temperature of the body (thermogenesis), which burns a greater number of calories as energy.(8)
