Growing up, I always played sports. Every day of the week was something different from football to hockey, boxing and ice skating.

I’ve always loved fitness, but then I tore ligaments in my ankle and had to stop playing for a while. I then had my daughter at the age of 20 just before my 21st birthday, and after two years of not doing any kind of fitness, I started to hate my body.

I have anxiety, and during this time, a few things happened in my life, which resulted in me having panic attacks, and for almost a year, I barely left the house. I had CBT therapy, and after some time, I decided that I needed to do something with my life; give myself something to look forward to doing.

So I went to my local gym having never been in one before, and that’s when my journey started.

I watched a bodybuilding show at the end of 2014, and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing all the girls looked and thought to myself that that would be a dream come true to be able to do that so I knuckled down, set my dreams to goals and the more I trained, the more I educated myself with the whole competition industry. In 2016, I did my first show. It felt incredible. I never thought I’d have the confidence to do anything like that. I always covered myself up, so being in a bikini was a whole new world to me.

I ended up doing four shows in 2016, and I did three more in 2018, where I placed 2nd at one show and went through to the British finals and placed 5th there with an invite to the Worlds.

It still seems a bit surreal that I have achieved that and how I fell in love with bodybuilding and the mental strength you gain from it. I want to keep doing better and see how far my passion for it will take me.
